Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLENDA CLARICE NICHOLLS Peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013, Mrs. Glenda Clarice Nicholls (Simmons) passed away at age 79 years. Mom will be sadly missed by her three daughters Joy, Deana, Tara (Sheriff), her three sons Kevin, Glenn, Steven, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and acquaintances. Born on April 16, 1934 she was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Edith Simmons, husband Maurice, and granddaughter Cassie. Mom attended St. Mary's Academy and continued her education in England fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse. Upon returning to Canada, she pursued her career at St. Joseph's Residence, Beacon Hill Lodge, and Riverview Health Centre until her retirement. Mom's musical talents knew no bounds! Once she mastered the violin, she set her sights on the piano - her instrument of choice. Her love of music never waned. Mom was generous and giving throughout her entire life never turning away anyone in need. She was known for opening up her home and welcoming those less fortunate without hesitation. She showed her commitment to the betterment of others through her support of various charities. She was very active in revitalizing the Sierra Leone community by her involvement in the resettlement of refugees. Her contributions will be forever appreciated. "Mom, your love and devotion to your family will never be forgotten, we will always love you" In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away, you suffered much in silence, you fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, but still you kept on fighting, until the very end, God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me". So when we saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain, we could not wish you back To suffer that again. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of one's choice THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C 0X4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
