PATRICIA GAIL POMARENSKI With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Patricia Gail Pomarenski (née Zubek) at St. Boniface Hospital, Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Pat leaves behind her husband and best friend, David, daughter Amanda (fiancé Dave), son Kurt (daughter-in-law Ellie and grandson Brody), son Mark, sister Alberta Russell (husband Brian and family), and brother Glen Zubek (wife Tracy). Pat was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Zubek. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Pat graduated from the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba and became a Grade 2 teacher at Lord Wolseley School. She married David July 15, 1972, and together they raised three wonderful children. She returned to the workforce as a Child Care Provider and became an advocate for Child Care Worker's rights. Recently retired, she was looking forward to visiting family in Canada, the US, and England. Pat's generosity knew no boundaries, and her contagious laughter put everyone at ease. She touched the lives of all that knew her. Words cannot describe how deeply she will be missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.

We had not only already enjoyed some wonderful times together, but we were anticipating many more. • It's the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you'll remember like the laughs, the stories, the smiles. And even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles and emerge stronger. • Dave I have always appreciated your friendship and guidance. I remember how you told me it was important to re-connect with your wife as the kids grew up. I know you followed your own advice, making sure Pat was the centre of your life. I know you will miss her, just remember you have many friends to help you through this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Doug Krochak (Friend ) on: Mar 30, 2013

  • Mandy is a real joy to count as a friend, so it is difficult for me to think of her family faced with such sorrow. Having never met, Pat, I imagine her as someone who was just as vivacious and full of life as her daughter is. So I hope that everyone affected by this loss finds comfort in shared memories. Please take heart not only in those recollections of the most significant events, but also be wrapped in warmth and peace while reminiscing over those everyday moments that now seem so precious. - Posted by: William Purdy () on: Mar 30, 2013
