JOHN (LARRY) PEACHELL
Born: Nov 04, 1942
Date of Passing: Mar 23, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (LARRY) PEACHELL November 4, 1942 - March 23, 2013 With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Larry, on March 23, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his children John Peachell (Shelley) and Jill Tonn (Dave), and grandchildren Zack and Bode, and Samuel and Jessica. He also leaves to mourn his mother Dolly; his sister Audrey DeJaeger (Lorne), and brothers Allen and Jim. He was predeceased by his father, Jack. Larry was born in Winnipeg. He worked for the River East School Division for 37 years, first as a teacher, then counsellor, vice principal and principal. He was loved by all, students and colleagues alike, for his caring nature, sense of humour and dedication. Larry and Carolyn always shared a passion for travel and adventure and spent two wonderful years overseas living in The Black Forest of Germany where they made many lifelong friends. Upon Larry's retirement in 1998 they continued to explore many new exotic destinations together. But Larry's favourite place to be was at the family cottage in Lester Beach, where he enjoyed cross-country skiing, bird-watching and especially playing tennis with his many friends at Victoria Beach. Larry also enjoyed his many winters spent in Florida... playing tennis, walking the beach and enjoying the sun with the love of his life. Larry's biggest passion in life was his family. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, and, as was his nature, remained optimistic and positive throughout. A special thank you to the many doctors and nurses of St. Boniface Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fort Garry Hotel on 222 Broadway Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7; call 1-888-532-6982 or online at www.cancer.ca/manitoba.
