Al, Today we took the journey back up to Cross Lake. It has been a busy, emotional two weeks for Jason and I. Today we start the healing, today it becomes real as we carry on with our daily life. We could feel you with us today on our drive home cram packed somewhere between the kids. We felt your presence, and that gave us a piece of mind. I promise to take care of Jason and love him to the end of time. I promise to be here to support him through this difficult time good days and bad. I promise to cut a piece of birthday cake at the kids birthdays just for you. I know you will be there with them guiding them and keeping them safe. I promise I will do my part to keep you alive in the kids hearts. They will know the kind of man you were and how much you loved them. I know you will be with is always. Send jason strength to get through the tough days, he will miss you everyday with his whole heart. Love you always Nichole xoxox - Posted by: Nichole MacGillivray (daughter in law ) on: Apr 06, 2013

As I sit here in front of this dam keyboard, tears welling up & spilling over: Hands still shaking with anger & great sorrow. Still pictures & moving memories of Alasdair running through my mind! The words I mean to type seem to be so hard to find. There would not be enough ink in this cursed machine for all the tales to be told of this good, courageous & brave Scotsman. To have been known as a friend, I take great Honour & Pride. To the family & loved ones all our sorrows run deep. For on the wings of a beautiful Dragon, Alasdair has gone forth seeking those before him! Till we meet again old Friend! D. - Posted by: D (old friend) on: Apr 03, 2013

Al, your energy and positive outlook were contagious. We were blessed to have known you. "The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively" (Bob Marley) - Posted by: Deana (friend) on: Apr 01, 2013

I remember Alasdair when we lived down the street from each other in the mid 70's. I was close friends with his sister, Veronica. I am sorry to hear of your loss, my sympathy to the family. He was a great kid with a sense of humor and very much like his father. - Posted by: Carol Bamforth (old neighbor from Keenleyside Street- 75-79) on: Mar 30, 2013

You fought a long and difficult battle with leukemia and never gave up hope. I admire the positive attitude you had right to the end. The strength you had in being able to endure the harsh treatment which sadly was all in vain. Life will never be the same without you . Rest in Peace. Love, Dad. - Posted by: Alasdair Ross (Father) on: Mar 30, 2013
