Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDEBBY JARMUSKE (nee DRAHO) Peacefully with her family by her side, Debby passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on April 2, 2013 at the age of 51. Debby will be sadly missed by daughter Jennifer Jarmuske (Adam) and Jennifer's father Wayne, sons Kyle and Keith Szabo and their father Les, father John Draho, predeceased by mother Carol Draho in 1999, siblings Lori (Gerry), Wendy (Emil), Susan (Garth), Michael (Tracy), numerous nieces and nephews, and her extended Sobeys family. Debby was born in Winnipeg on February 18, 1962 and grew up in West Kildonan, graduating from West Kildonan Collegiate Institute in 1980. She took great pride in her family, home and work, and was a dedicated loving mother to her three children. For the past eleven years Debby was employed as a cashier at Sobeys where she loved her job and developed many close friendships with co-workers and customers. Debby's fight with cancer was brief and courageous. She showed such determination over the last three months and was an inspiration to everyone who visited her. Debby received exceptional care on 7A West at St. Boniface Hospital and her family extends heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses and support staff there. A celebration of Debby's life will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to any supportive animal organization, in acknowledgement of Debby's lifelong love of animals.

I was very saddened to hear of Debbie's passing, I can still picture her big bright smile, hear her laughter and wit from when we were just little kids and neighbours, it has been many years since I have seen her but those memories will never fade. I learned today of Deb's passing. I am so sad to read of this, I was a close friend of Lori's (good friends during our school years.) I remember all the Draho kids really well, a very busy, happy home on Newton Avenue. I have not seen Debby in many years but I remember Debby's great smile and her zest for life, her wonderful personality, her extremely friendly self. As the principal of Centennial School, I remember Debby's sweet personality, her care for her sisters, her protective nature of her little brother and her being "a really good kid showing lots of leadership". I did not know of her latest illness, but I am certain that she was courageous and caring throughout it. Although I only knew Debby for a short while sharing a hospital room with her,we shared very much in common. So saddened to hear of this... Debby's was one of our favorite cashiers at Sobey's. Just around Christmas she encouraged us as she commented on my husband's battle with cancer.
