Date of Passing: Apr 03, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK DONALD MCMILLAN 1933 - 2013 On April 3, 2013, Frank McMillan passed away peacefully. He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Gail, children Barbara, Susan, Catherine (Fabian) and John (Kelly), as well as his much loved grandchildren Jessica, Kya, Alyx and David. He also leaves behind a sister, Marion Hansen and her family in Texas. Frank was predeceased by an infant sister, Mary Lou and his parents Reg and Mabel. Early in life, Frank worked as a manufacturer's representative and then he found his calling and a great joy in his life: POLITICS! He worked as the Executive Director of the Alberta P.C. party during the Lougheed "glory days". He then worked as the Executive Director for the Department of Economic Development until his retirement. Frank clearly expressed his views on many of life's events, but he always gave an attentive ear to what others had to say. No matter how deeply immersed in politics he was, he was most proud of his family. Frank was actively involved in bringing the Crime Stoppers program to Edmonton. A big supporter of local programs, Frank was a longtime member of the Edmonton YMCA and of the Winnifred Stewart Foundation. At his request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Crime Stoppers, to the Children's Make-A-Wish Foundation or to a charity of one's choice. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.hainstockedmonton.com. Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. 9810 - 34 Avenue, Edmonton.
