WALTER G. WOLFSON March 11, 1915 - April 4, 2013 Walter Wolfson was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Zena, in 2008, and by his brother Joe and sister Vera. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Osler (Cameron); his granddaughter, Elissa Vann Struth (Jamie), and his four great-grandchildren, Lukas, Calista, Marek and Axel; and by Cam's children, John and Kathleen, and their families. Dad met Mom at her family's home in England during the Second World War, and they married in Liverpool in 1943; they settled in Winnipeg, Dad's home town. He was devoted to his family and worked very hard on their behalf. Being a very handy person, he maintained his home with care, and used his skills to help Carole when she bought her own home. He and Mom absolutely doted on Elissa, their treasure. Dad was a proud member of the Masons for almost 70 years and participated with great enjoyment. He loved music, Mom loved dance, and they subscribed to the Ballet, the Symphony and the Opera for many years. He was fascinated with cameras and watches, and in more recent years with computers. His final years were increasingly challenging but he pursued his interests as long as he could. We will miss him so very much. Graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Rosh Pina Cemetary, 2795 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Walter G. Wolfson Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation (1350 One Lombard Place, (204) 944-9474) would be greatly appreciated.
