PATRICIA DAWN GILHOOLY Patricia Dawn Gilhooly (nee McGillivray), aged 73, passed away at home peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2013. Daughter of Donald and Evelyn McGillivray, Patricia (fondly known to her family and friends as Pat) was predeceased by her beloved husband John Michael (Mike) Gilhooly. Pat is survived by her son Gregory (Oakville, ON) and his daughter Emma; her daughter Dawn (Hamilton, ON) and partner Pearson Lang; her son Douglas (Oakville, ON), his wife Louise Kelly, and their children Michael, Meghan and Brendan; her sister Diane Ollmann (Winnipeg, MB) and her family, and her brother Morley McGillivray (Vancouver, BC) and his family, as well as many relatives and dear friends from near and far. Pat was born in Regina, SK and was raised on the family farm near Pense. She attended school in Pense, then later at Luther College in Regina, and after graduation became a certified lab technician. In 1960 Pat married Michael (Mike) Gilhooly and soon after they moved to Winnipeg, where they started their family and raised their three children. Pat loved golfing at Bel Acres and curling at Assiniboine Memorial; where she made many wonderful, life-long friends. She worked as a lab technician at the Red Cross, Silver Heights Clinic, Assiniboine Clinic and later at the University Park Medical Clinic in Regina. In 1994, Pat and Mike moved back to Regina and then later, after Mike's passing, she moved to Oakville, ON to be close to her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished so dearly. Pat showed great strength and determination right to the end in her fight against both cancer and COPD. She will be remembered for her strong will and love of friends and family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mira Backo-Shannon, the staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic in Regina; your kindness and support over the years have been greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Ave. E., Regina, SK, with tea and coffee to be served afterwards at the Hotel Saskatchewan for those wishing to share memories of Pat with the immediate family.
