  • I was privileged to take organ lessons from Sylvia for several years while we both worked at Canadian Nazarene College. It was a joy to have permission to practice once a week on the pipe organ at St. Aidan's Anglican Church and to fill in for her on several Sunday mornings. She was a lovely lady, teacher and friend. • I am so saddened to learn of Sylvia's passing at such a young age. I considered her a friend as well as her being my organ teacher while we both worked at Canadian Nazarene College on Lee Blvd. She was brave to take on a "mature student" like me, and I appreciated her friendship, Christian commitment, and her wisdom. Blessings on all of you as you grieve for her. - Posted by: Helen Myers (Former co-worker/friend/student) on: Apr 10, 2013

  • Dear John and Family, What a huge loss. We are deeply saddened by Sylvia's passing, and yet we are encouraged by the memory of all that she gave through her music, hospitality and humour. I treasure the memory of one particular concert, a tribute to Robbie Burns, where Sylvia sewed matching tartan sashes for the performers, and among other things we performed "The Parting Glass". We mourn with you John, and all the family. - Posted by: Karen Jensen and Gerry Bowler (Friends, Colleagues) on: Apr 08, 2013
