LOUISE H. KOHLMEIER
Born: Apr 21, 1916
Date of Passing: Apr 08, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUISE H. KOHLMEIER April 21, 1916 - April 8, 2013 Peacefully on Monday, 13 days short of her 97th birthday, Mom passed away. She was a woman of unlimited energy, the matriarch of our family. In addition to raising five children, and a busy household, she always welcomed anyone into her home. Never one to be still, Nannie always had a handwork project on the go - from crocheted and knitted sweaters and afghans to seasonal handicrafts. She shared her love of music as organist for Grace Lutheran Church for many, many years. Mom leaves to mourn her passing Diane (Don), Paul (Louella), Karen (Ken), Janet (John) and Glen (Jeannet), 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren whose lives have been enriched by her unconditional love, faith and caring. Mom was predeceased by her husband Paul, son-in-law Don, granddaughter Kristen and great-granddaughter Sophie. We sincerely thank the staff of C-D1 at Riverview Health Centre for their exceptional care and empathy for Mom and our family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a reception to follow in the Thomas Sill room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre.

My memories of Auntie Lou will always include the best hugs and the most mouth watering smells coming from her kitchen. She was the original multi-tasker who managed to raise a large family and keep them together over the decades. To my cousins and their families, know that you are all being thought of at this very tough time. I do know that Auntie Lou is being welcomed by former Kohlmeier seniors who led the way. - Posted by: Joan Long (Niece) on: Apr 14, 2013

I was saddened by the news of Mrs. K's passing. A flood of memories came back of family dinners, plum pyrogie, amazing pies and warm conversations. The Kohlmeiers accepted me into their home as family and I will treasure this for ever. She will be missed but never forgotten.
