MARIE BRIGITTE JULIENNE THERRIEN Brigitte passed away suddenly on April 9, 2013. She was born on March 12, 1951 in Laurier, Manitoba, where she lived for most of her life. She was a valued member of her community and volunteered for many organizations over the years. Brigitte married Garth Patterson in 1969, and was later divorced. She graduated from the University of Brandon in 1980, as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Brigitte married Remi Therrien in 1985. Brigitte worked for the Parkland Regional Health Authority for many years, where she was a very strong advocate for her patients, before retiring. Brigitte loved animals, bird watching, knitting, reading, singing in the choir, sports, cooking and gardening. She was well known for her beautiful gardens and making the best mushroom soup in town. Brigitte is survived by her husband Remi; children Shannon Patterson, Shayne Patterson, Sharlene (Cory) McLaughlin, and Michael (Karen Toews) Therrien; grandchildren Vanessa Patterson, Heather Roussin, Danielle Patterson, Celeste McLaughlin, CJ McLaughlin, Corbin McLaughlin, Myles Therrien, and Violet Therrien; her brothers Luke and Marcien Letain and their families, her sister Jacqueline Hannibal and family, sisters-in-law Cindy and Della Letain and families; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Julien and Adelaide Letain, as well as brothers Paul, Vital and Peter Letain. Prayers and Eulogy will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church, Laurier, Manitoba with Mass to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Father Eric Zadji as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.   • I was truly shocked when I heard, just yesterday of Brigitte's passing. I worked with her for several years on the Rehab Unit. Dauphin Personal Care Home and the Psych unit at Dauphin Hospital. She was a truly great person, nurse and friend. The last time I saw her we just had huge hugs for each other.
