MARGARET SINCLAIR Peacefully, on April 8, 2013, Margaret Sinclair passed away in Kelowna, BC. Margaret is survived by her daughters Donna Pelech (Andy), Carol Peter (Rob); her grandchildren Kathryn, Daniel, and David Pelech, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cathie and Lin Whitman, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Donald (1998), and all her siblings. Margaret was born in Winnipeg, at her family home on Bannerman Avenue, on May 7, 1920. She was the youngest child of Alexandrina and William Smith and she grew up in a lively, loving home, showered with the attention and affection of her older siblings. Margaret attended the neighbourhood schools and after graduating from high school went to work as a secretary. She left her job when she married Donald Sinclair in September 1949. Margaret was a loving and caring mother to her two daughters and a special friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook and bake and every day her children came home from school to the aroma of a delicious meal or one of her special baked treats. Margaret enjoyed knitting and many a family member or friend was the happy recipient of a hand-knitted baby sweater or shawl courtesy of Margaret. Always a doting grandmother, hers and Donald's home came to be known as the "house of treats" by the grandchildren. They spent many happy hours there visiting with their grandparents. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and compassionate caregivers as well as supportive family members who did so much to enhance Margaret's quality of life over the years.
