Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGILDA GREENBERG It is with great regret and sadness we announce that on March 31, 2013, after a full and wonderful life, Gilda Greenberg died peacefully surrounded by her family at Riverview Health Centre. Gilda was the much loved wife of husband Irvin, loving mother of Charles (Rhoda) of Vancouver, Aubrey and Susan (Mark), and the adoring grandmother of Joshua, Jesse, Alexis, Brett, Jamie and Justin. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Bertha Feldman. She will be missed by her loving and supporting sisters, Linda (George) and Marcia (Walter). Born June 23, 1938, Gilda was a survivor of childhood polio who overcame the disease to lead a complete and joyous life. Gilda led by example. She was a strong, hardworking, warm and generous person. She was capable of both delivering and experiencing immense joy. Gilda did a lot of different activities once her children were grown. She enrolled in university as a mature student, she ran her own business, did a lot of volunteer work, most notably with the Gwen Sector Creative Living Centre, and traveled widely with Irvin. Gilda and Irvin loved to entertain friends and family in their home. They enjoyed restaurants, films, theatre, concerts and "getting away" as often as possible to Gimli. Gilda was an avid reader and an enthusiastic member of several bridge groups as well as a book club. Gilda was loved and cherished by all who knew her and selflessly gave of herself. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A thank you goes out to all of Gilda's many friends for their love, support and friendship. A very special thanks also is extended to Rabbi Lander. Finally, the family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre (Ward E3) for the compassionate care they provided during her final days. Donations in Gilda's name can be made to the Gwen Sector Creative Living Centre or the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
