Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM GOODWIN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Goodwin on April 12, 2013 at the age of 83. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Marion (Bell) of 52 years, daughter Cindy Saunders (Ross) and grandchildren Sean, Kara and Hayley in Melbourne, Australia. He was predeceased by his son Mark in 2012 and his sister Jean Redgate in 1991. He will be missed by his sister Pat McKane of Parksville, BC, his brother-in-law Rowland Del Bigio of Winnipeg, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Tuelon, MB son of Dr. Murray and Anna Goodwin. After finishing school in Tuelon he was employed at Manitoba Hydro in Winnipeg as a draftsman in the Civil Design Department for 33 years, retiring in 1993. Bill and Marion spent their retirement years travelling to Australia, UK, Panama Canal, Hawaii, Caribbean, Maritimes and many trips to Vancouver and the Island. Bill was heavily involved with his children's sports, refereeing, coaching and umpiring. He also was an avid downhill and cross-country skier in Manitoba and Alberta. Thank you to all the nurses and aides who looked after Bill at Parkview Place. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. I do not know "William" personally but we want to send our deepest sympathies and prayers to all your family at a very difficult time. I am a result of his great father efforts of going beyond the call of duty as a Doctor.
