Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I would first like to extend my deepest condolences to my Auntie Sally's son, my cousin Rasheed. I hope that you find comfort in the memories of the life you shared with your Mom -- She lived her life for your happiness and success, and was so proud that you realized both. Secondly, I would like to acknowledge her brother Mubarak (Barry) Ali. Although they were siblings they were also the best of friends. I pray that your sorrow is eased with remembering the love and laughter you shared over the years. Finally, with a different sadness I express my regrets to Zaleena’s estranged sister Aklima, and brothers Ashmeed and Ramzan. May you find consolation in knowing that when life brings you to your knees, you will be in the best position to pray for forgiveness. I myself am praying and giving thanks to God for giving me such an incredible individual to love and learn from. I feel a great sense of happiness in knowing that I brought joy to my Auntie Sally’s life. I am finding peace in remembering all of our special moments. I have so many fond memories of my Aunt, from my earliest memories of sitting on her lap, to my more recent memories of trading funny Nursing stories. My Auntie Sally was always an important figure in my life. She was always so invested in my happiness, whether it meant driving across the province to buy me my first Cabbage Patch doll, or talking to me for hours sharing experiences of life and love. Although I was her niece, she treated me like her daughter, which was an absolute blessing. There wasn't a single milestone in my life that passed that she wasn't there to celebrate with me. And wherever there was a life lesson there was sure to be a well-suited cliché; my personal favourite being "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink". It was within the last decade that I had the privilege of sharing a very special friendship with my Aunt. We confided in each other, supported each other through difficult times, talked about dating and relationships, and provided each other with encouragement and strength. We had a very special bond that I feel most lucky to have experienced. She will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. - Posted by: Shamila Ali (Niece) on: May 03, 2013

  • I knew Sally many years ago, when I boarded in her home. She had a truly loving spirit and wanted the best for everyone. Although, I had not seen her for many years I know she will find great comfort peace and love in the arms of Jesus in Heaven. I found out about Sally's death today Apr 22/13 from Merle's daughter. - Posted by: Marcie Dupuis (boarder many years ago) on: Apr 22, 2013

  • My mother lived a life full of love and support. She gave love to all whom she knew, and as a nurse at St. Boniface for over 30 years, she provided support and care for those whom she did not know. I will miss her every day that I have left on this earth, and I hope that God draws her near to him in the next. I love you mom with all my heart and I hope to see you again if God wills it. - Posted by: Rasheed Hosein (Son) on: Apr 20, 2013

  • sally was the most attentive and loving sister to me. She represented everything that is pure, simple and beautiful. We are still in a state of shock and dismay over her passing. My two children loved and adored their aunt and will forever hold her close to their hearts. On behalf of the Ali family our most sincere condolences go out to Rasheed, Carla and innocent and beautiful Marie. GOD ALSO NEED THE COMPANY OF GOOD PEOPLE. Barry her loving brother. - Posted by: Barry Ali (sister) on: Apr 20, 2013

  • Rasheed, Carla & Marie, my deepest sympathy to you on the passing of Sally. She was a good friend, even though we hadn't seen each other since I left the credit union, she was often in my thoughts. Her daily calls during my hospital stay were always welcome and a bright spot in my day. She was very proud of her son and his wife and daughter! She truly was a special person, and will be greatly missed! My thoughts and prayers are with you! - Posted by: Liana Klapecki (Friend) on: Apr 18, 2013
