UWE ZIBELL It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Uwe Zibell at his home on April 12, 2013 at the age of 71. Uwe was predeceased by his mother Ann and father Fritz. He will be remembered by his wife Laurette; children Harold (Debbie), Calvin, Rex and Cassandra (Jared), David (Kristin), Renee (Ryan); grandchildren Serena, Marissa, Melody, Adam, Lucy, Jesse, Brady, Jacob, Chloe, Jacob and Aaden; brothers Ziggy, Karl (Doreen); sisters Edith (Alfred), Ann (Adam); nephews David (Sharon), Bryan, Ken; nieces Dana (Doug), Diane (Rob) and Karla; and many neighbours and friends. On October 30, 1941, Uwe was born in Lubeck, Germany. He immigrated to Canada in April 1953 with his brothers Ziggy, Carl and sister Ann. They settled in Giroux but moved to Steinbach, Manitoba. At age 15, Uwe learned his love for machining at Friesen Machine in Steinbach. His love for machines led him to becoming a pilot and owning his own plane. In his later years, Uwe had a passion for tractors; both driving and fixing them. He had many other business ventures throughout his life, including starting the St. Vital group. We would like to thank the home care workers Jacqueline, Richard, Melanie, Sandra, Ruby and Pauline. A celebration of Uwe's life will be held at the family home to be determined at a later date. A notice will be posted in the Winnipeg Free Press. Dave, bring the Doritos. In memory of Uwe, he'd be pleased if donations were made to Tuberous Sclerosis Canada www.tscanada.ca Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
