HELEN (GAIL) LAZARENKO (nee TRIMBLE) January 19, 1941 - April 13, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Helen Gail Lazarenko of Portage la Prairie after a lengthy battle with cancer. Left to mourn Gail's passing are her husband of 54 years, John Lazarenko; sons Randy (Shannon), Grant (Micheline), Mitch (Meagan); and daughter Wendy (Everett). She was a beloved "Gramma" to her grandchildren, Patrice, Lanissa, Laura, Tara, Blake, Joshua, Jared, Ayden and Avary. She will also be missed by her sisters and brothers, Hal (Audrey), Mary Trimble, Sharon Pratt (Ken Hickey), Tom (Idie), Gladys Green (Barry), Opal Barnes (Willard) and Stephen Brook. Gail was predeceased by her son Jeff (in infancy); parents, Henry and Muriel Brook (nee Harden); sisters, Pat Perry and Beverly Trimble (in infancy); and brother-in-law, Alf Pratt. Mom always enjoyed visits from both her and dad's families and always had food on the table. In keeping with Mom's wishes there will be no service. A very special thank you is extended to Auntie Emily and Uncle Cornie Reimer for bringing a smile to mom's face in her final days. The family also thanks the wonderful staff at Concordia Hospital for the loving care Mom received over the past few weeks. To Marie Thorkelson RN, your kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gail's name made to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated by the family. To Uncle John and family - We are very sorry to hear about the loss of Aunty Gail. She was a very special lady and I must admit it brings a big smile to my face when I think of her at the Family Reunion this past summer. She loved being there and I know that she is filling in my mom with all the latest family gossip!! Our thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time. Be strong for each other, take comfort in your family and friends and make sure to treasure all the memories."Death leaves a heart-ache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal" Thinking of you - Love Monica, Steve and kids - Posted by: Monica Tomchuk (Neice) on: Apr 25, 2013

So sorry to hear of your loss, she will be dearly missed by all. I can't remember a time that all of the family got together and Auntie Gail was not there front and center ready to take charge and help keep everything going smooth even during her illness. Our prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Angela Weinrich (Niece) on: Apr 23, 2013

We will miss her always but she is joining the other members of our family and is knitting up a storm with Mum and Pat. Look out for falling sweaters, mitts and afghans. - Posted by: Barry and Gladys Green (sister and brother in law ) on: Apr 20, 2013
