Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONA DUFFY Leona Agnes Duffy, 90, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013 at the Simkin Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Leona was born on March 14, 1923 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan to John and Anna (Krack) Fast. Leona married Thomas Duffy on July 31, 1948 and they were married for 48 years. Leona was predeceased by her husband Tom and many of her brothers and sisters. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joan (Phil) Killeen, Michael (Jo) Duffy, and Trina Duffy (Cyril Beaumont). Grandma will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Tanya Killeen, Dana (Cary) Allaire, Jennifer (Ryan) Thomas, Erin Duffy (Cory Troia), Alexandra Beaumont, and Jacqueline Beaumont; and great-grandchildren, Devyn, Carson, Paetyn, Aurora, and Camryn. Leona is survived by brothers Len and Jim Fast. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. The family of Leona Duffy would like to thank the nurse and health care aides of Sharon Home for their loving and compassionate care. Leona, I will miss your sense of humor, the mischievous twinkle in your eye when you were telling a joke, and your quick wit. Your adventuresome spirit took you to many places in your life and the conversations we had about those places enriched both of us. You were surrounded by pictures and cards from your family and drawings from the great-grandchildren that filled your room with rich memories that you would talk about with warmth and love. Leona, what a wonderfully vibrant lady. She raised the finest of human beings and as they say it takes a village and Leona participated in contributing to the joy, unconditional love, wise words of advice and nurtured the self esteem of not only everyone involved in her children's lives but to her friends and neighbours all over the world.
