Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MARY SMITH (nee PARENT) It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jean Mary Smith (nee Parent) on April 12, 2013 in Winnipeg at the age of 72. Jean was predeceased by her parents Netti and Alex Parent and brother Eugene Parent. She leaves to mourn her husband of 54 years Gary Smith and children Judson (Brenda) Cheyenne and grandson Remington. Jean was a loving wife and mother always putting her family ahead of herself. She dedicated a large portion of her life to people with intellectual disabilities and was the driving force in the creation of Dove Homes and served as its President from 2000 until her passing. There will be a private memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Habitat for Humanity.

I knew Jean's parents well. We were friends. I was there when Jean was born. She was a beautiful baby and so was Eugene. Jean was a lovely person.
