Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARDENE JOYCE GILFILLAN Peacefully on April 13, 2013 Ardene passed away at the age of 90 years. Ardene is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Marion Holbird; her husband of 50 years Roy; brothers, Allen, Garry, Alvin; sisters, Katherine and Myrna and grandson Kyle Johnson. Ardene is survived by sisters, Gloria and Audrey; son Richard (Lenore), Jack (Karen) and daughter Marlys (Jim); grandchildren, Dawn, Elise (Adam), Tara (Greg), Reid (Ashley) and five precious little great-grandchildren. Ardene was born in Gull Lake, SK, May 14, 1922 the oldest of eight children. July 5, 1941 she married Roy, living in Saskatchewan. Until 1962 when Roy was transferred from Rockglen, SK to Winnipeg with Pioneer Grain Co., which was a big transition from a small town to the big city. In 1966 Ardene began working at Eatons and retiring in 1976. Ardene loved the summers as she would spend hours in her garden and a yard full of flowers. She also enjoyed her sports, watching baseball, curling and even had the Winnipeg Jets Channel. A family memorial service will be held April 26 at Concordia Village, 1125 Molson St., at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations in Ardene's memory may be made to the Kyle Johnson Community Fund at The Winnipeg Foundation, 1350 One Lombard Place, Winnipeg MB R3B 0X3.
