LEON DESMET Peacefully at the Rock Lake Personal Care Home on Sunday, April 21, 2013, Leon DeSmet of Swan Lake, passed away at the age of 92 years. Leon leaves to mourn his passing his nieces and nephews, Albert and Alice Devloo, George and Leona Devloo, Raymond and Cathy Van Woensel, Armand and Pat Van Woensel, Christine and Murray Anderson, Ann and Victor Desrochers, Melvin Van Woensel and Sandra, Edwin Van Woensel as well as many great nieces and nephews. Leon was predeceased by his father Philemon, his mother Celina, sisters Yvonne Van Woensel and Simone Devloo and by brothers-in-law Marcel Van Woensel and Jerome Devloo. Leon was born and raised in the St. Alphonse area where he farmed until he retired to Swan Lake in 1977. Once his health failed, Leon moved to the Care Home in Pilot Mound. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Swan Lake MB. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the St. Martin of Tours Parish Cemetery. Friends that so desire, memoriams may be made in Leon's memory to the Prairie View Lodge, Pilot Mound MB R0G 1P0 or to the Lorne Wellness Centre, Box 40, Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0.
