PATRICIA MCGEE (HOWIE) Patricia McGee, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, April 21, 2013. Patt was born in Longuay, Quebec. She was raised by two wonderful, loving parents, Bob and Jean Howie. Patt was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Patt is predeceased by her father Bob. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, whom she was married to for 36 years; her daughter Stephanie and son John; her mother Jean, and her sister Betty (husband Marvin). She was a devoted grandmother to her three beautiful grandchildren Tevin, Kiara, and Kiyan. Patt was a beautiful, loving, compassionate woman who loved the west coast, while visiting her parents, sister and family. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, spending time with her three cats and two dogs; Patt loved her animals. She sang as she talked and she was the kindest hearted woman with the most gorgeous spirit - she was as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Patt was one of those people that once you met her you knew you would never forget her. She had a sparkle in her eyes and her quick witted charm. Everyone who met her loved her, no matter what she did, it impacted your life for the good and the better. She will be terribly missed. And may this hole in our hearts be one day filled with joy again. May the sorrow turn to happiness, and the loss become a gain, as Patt is now our guardian angel. To watch us, and love us, although it may seem far, may it one day be near. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day St. at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013. The McGee/Howie family would like to thank everyone for their continued support, but would also like their privacy in this time of grief. Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • Our deepest condolences to your family Steph. She was the nicest person ever to meet. She had such a laid back attitude, that I remembered about her. We all wish you prayers to get through your loss. But just remember she will always be around even if she's not in the physical, her spirit will be here forever with you. • My mom was such an amazing woman. She was the best mother that I could only have dreamed to have had. Not a second goes by that I don't think about or miss her. She was a loving and compassionate grandmother. And there will forever be a hole in my life and in my heart forever. - Posted by: Stephanie (daughter) on: May 02, 2013

  • Our sincere condolences. Time does not change anything, it only distances us and with it things become easier. They say if we have one friend we're lucky. I feel I am very fortunate to have had Patt as my friend, and now to have her in my heart forever. I know we will see eac hother again and resume our friendship, and be as we couldn't be anything other than, the friends we had always been. As my father had wrote about my mother John, they were together through the hard times, not just for the good times. Please think of that and find your strength. You are not alone. You have your beautiful children and grandchildren. Both you and Patt were my strength when I had no one to turn too. I hope my brother and I can be yours if need be. Much love to you all. • Our family is deeply saddened at the passing of beautiful Patt. Knowing Patt from the time we moved to Calgary from Halifax in 1962, she was always a free spirit, kind-hearted, full of life and so much fun to be around! We will always treasure the wonderful Christmases and many other gatherings that our families shared together. Patt will always have a special place in our hearts and we are so blessed to have had her touch our lives. - Posted by: Joyce, Gary and Brenda (The Lushington Family) (Friends) on: Apr 25, 2013

  • John, Stephanie, and John Jr. - Our hearts are breaking with the sad news of Patt's passing. She was a great woman, caring and compassionate, with a wonderful sense of humour. Patt and I go way back ... when we were so young and full of dreams. Never in a million years would we have imagined that we would never be able to share another laugh or tear. Words cannot express the sorrow we share with you. She will be missed greatly. God Bless. - Posted by: Pat, Candace, Carly & Mark Sloan, Roberts Creek, BC (Bestest Friends ever .... ) on: Apr 25, 2013

  • Pat was a fun loving person with a big heart. She was always laughing and joking around with me and was always uplifting and optomistic. My fondest memory that I still speak of to my family was when Pat, myself and another co-worker Candace were in Eaton's Men's clothing department, the music was playing and so Pat and I started to dance and sing. We laughed so hard that time. There was never a dull moment when she was around. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Debbie Plischke (Co-worker 30 years ago.) on: Apr 25, 2013

  • She was a mother figure to everyone who walked into her door, whether it be ppl or animals. She wore her heart on her sleeve. She will be missed by all and never forgotten. - Posted by: John Hiscox and kim hiscox (close friend) on: Apr 25, 2013
