It was with sadness that I leaned just yesterday of Denis' passing. As a kid who hung around with his kids and his baby brother, I always saw Denis as the "cool dad" we believed we didn't have. Young at heart, always smiling, proud to Rock and Roll, he demonstrated a charm and open affection for his own children and most of us who hung around. He also spent some time teaching me the finer points of driving as I prepared for my test. (passed first time out!) To the family, (my friends), my condolences. Warm thoughts of your father shared by so many will be a big part of his "heaven" - Posted by: Philippe Mailhot () on: Sep 22, 2013

Thank you Mr. O for spending so much time coaching us. It was truly a joy to learn the great sport of basketball with MR. O and Mr. B. I have many great memories of spending time with your family we were always so welcome in your house. I will always remember our trips from Ste-Anne to the University of Winnipeg when you worked for CN and I was attending a basketball camp, you would pick me up at the end of the day and bring me for ice cream at Dairymaid on Osborne. My deepest sympathies to Henriette, 59 years of marriage, that is truly amazing and something for us all to aspire to. - Posted by: Nicole (Beaumont) Legal daughter of Jean Beaumont (Friend and basketball player) on: Apr 30, 2013

Denis, did we ever spend so much time together, coaching basketball going to games and tournaments and sometimes planning practices while in sauna..it was a super relationship, one that I will cherish forever...Mr O, to our players, was always there for all of us...we saw most parts of this province together from St Norbert to Thompson, from Lorette to Sprague, from Ste Anne to Pinawa and even Melita...And the bus trip to Quebec City with 30 students..Have another great trip Big Guy...take care....We did so much. Denis, this world is a much better place for your passage...The Big Guy upstairs needed some help, coaching and managing...we'll reconnect some day buddy..Au revoir mon ami! - Posted by: Jean Beaumont (No 1 Buddy) on: Apr 29, 2013
