STEPHANIA (STELLA) BARAN May 31, 1909 - April 25, 2013 Stella Baran died peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2013, one month shy of celebrating her 104th birthday. She was born in Jaroslaw, Poland and was married to Frank Baran from 1925 until his death in 1985. Stella followed Frank to Manitoba in 1929, settling on a farm in West St. Paul where she lived until 1986 before moving to St. James. Proudly independent, she lived in her own apartment until this past November. She leaves two children, Nettie Kowbel (Henry, deceased) and Walter (Irene and grandson Dennis, deceased), eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A true matriarch, family - and feeding them - was the centerpiece of Stella's life. She was passionate in creating and sharing her crochet and needlework masterpieces. We will always remember her sympathetic ear, her kindness and generosity as we celebrate the influence she had on all of us. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Stella's memory to Deer Lodge PRIME, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 would be appreciated. Stella's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 with Eulogy at 9:45 a.m., followed by Funeral Liturgy, at St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Ave. with Rev. Fr.
