ARLENE MARTHA SHEWMAN Middle child of Ida (Ferguson) and Stanley Colter. Predeceased by husband Lloyd (1987) and her brothers and sister. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Della, May and Dorothy. She was the deeply loved mother of Jean-anne (Allan) and William. Nana to Christina (Jacob) and their three boys. "Narn" or Auntie to many special nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Woodnorth, near Virden, MB, on March 10, 1917. Passed peacefully in her 97th year on April 8, 2013 in Victoria BC, where she had resided these past three years. St. Vital, however, remained the home of her heart, having lived there for 60 years. She was a beautiful, kind, loving woman who will be so dearly missed. We extend many thanks to April and Whitney (nieces) for their love and support. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on June 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park", 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Rev. Alice Szemok officiating. Reception to follow. At her request, "fancy sandwiches" will be served.
