Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL WERESCHUK October 16, 1923 April 21, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Michael Wereschuk at the age of 89. He will be forever remembered and always missed by his children Richard, Linda (John), and Catherine (Garnet), his grandchildren Alyssa (Kalen), Michael, and Ryan, his nieces Adeline and Verna, and many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Olga, parents John and Anna, and sister Mary. Our father invested in his family first and appreciated the simple things in life. He loved a home cooked meal, fruitful tomato plants, strawberry picking, and holiday dinners (especially Ukrainian) with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the family pets Rocky, Taffy and Rufus. Mike was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and served as an elder for many years. He also enjoyed being a member of the Order of St. Andrews. Mike moved into Holy Family Home in October 2011 where he received exceptional care. Our family would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor for treating our father with respect, love, and dignity. Their care was above and beyond expectations. We would also like to thank Dr Shawna Visch and Plessis Medical Centre for the excellent care he received prior to moving into HFH. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St, Winnipeg MB. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St, Winnipeg, MB. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave, Winnipeg MB R2W 1T9 or the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 1175 Main St., Winnipeg MB R2W 3S4. Cathie, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. It has been many years since I've seen him but I will always remember him as a kind man who always made your friends feel welcome in his home. - Posted by: Lynne Watson (Friend) on: May 14, 2013

My condolences to this loving family. Cathy was not only Mike's daughter but also his ANGEL. I miss Mike whipping around the unit with his walker. - Posted by: Debbie Gerbrandt (friend) on: Apr 29, 2013

I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike when he became a resident on the fifth floor at Holy Family. Mike was a kind and gentle man who liked to stop in at the nurses' station and check up on things. I will miss seeing his smile and hearing his stories about his trucks. It was also a pleasure in getting to know his devoted daughter Cathie, her husband Garnett and their son Ryan and little Rocky too. Rest in peace, Mike. - Posted by: Tammy H. (Nurse ) on: Apr 27, 2013
