PATRICIA GLADYS MUNRO (nee Campbell) February 11, 1920 - April 10, 2013 The family announces, with deep regret and sadness, the passing of "Auntie Pat" at Victoria General Hospital April 10, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert, and her three brothers, Lynn, Fred and James. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families: Sandra (Lawrence), Susan (David), Shawn (Bill), Gordon, Rob (Jane), Brian (Genevieve), and Derek (Elisa). Pat was born in Winnipeg February 11, 1920 and spent her whole life here. She worked at Zellers and then at Air Canada as a finance agent until her retirement in 1976. She made many lasting friends there and kept in touch with some long past retirement, specifically Connie Edmonds and Lil George. She married the love of her life in 1970 and they shared 22 great years together including travelling to Europe and the British Isles. Never having had her own children (other than her cats - Sam and Missy Mo) she was like a "second mother" to her nieces and nephews - never forgetting birthdays and important occasions in their lives and those of their children and grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Pat's life on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, followed by a reception at Breezy Bend Country Club, 7620 Roblin Blvd. Thank you to the Victoria Hospital staff for the excellent care she received while there. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • In addition to being my cousin, Pat was my best friend growing up despite our 8 year difference. She was always there for me. She and I helped out in one of the Manitoba's floods - I was in my early 20's - and we made sandwiches for the volunteers at Osborne Bridge which we took to them - walking of course cause there was no other way to get there. Pat was always helping out and she was always cheerful and willing to spend time with a much younger cousin. We used to spend many a summer at my parent's cottage near Winnipeg Lake. One summer Pat's doctor told her she had to put on some weight. She talked me into helping her by encouraging her to eat lots of fun stuff like milk shakes, chocolate ice cream, fish and chips. She didn't gain a pound but I managed to pack them on for her! Thanks Pat! Hope you managed to run into Gord in Heaven because I'm sure that's where you are. - Posted by: Alice Doreen Boivin (nee Campbell) (Cousin) on: May 08, 2013
