Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDLAUG (LAUGA) SVEINBJORG EINARSSON It is with broken hearts and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Amma and Town Amma on April 25, 2013, peacefully with her family at her side. Lauga will be forever loved and deeply missed by her daughter Ellen (Chet), grandson Raymond, granddaughter Jacquie (Jeff) and her great-grandchildren Kyle, Brooke, Jillian and Megan. She also leaves to mourn, her brothers Harold (Crystal), Ragnar (Dreda) and David, along with sister-in-law Isabelle as well as many nephews and nieces and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Gudmunder and Ragnheidur Elin Einarsson, brothers Dori (Martha), Joe (Didda), and Raymond, sisters Asta (Ken), Kristine (Ted), Elin Osk (Russell), and sisters-in-law Blanche and Gina. Lauga was born on October 2, 1914 on the family farm (OXAR'A) in Geysir. She was the oldest of ten children and was mother to them all. She completed her schooling in Arborg and started to work in the farmer store. Lauga will always be remembered for working in the North Star Creamery where she worked for 34 years. Too early to retire at 72, she started working at the law firm of Hass Pandya and finally retired at the age of 85. Lauga was very active in the community. She belonged to the Unitarian Church and Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School in the church and played the organ for almost every funeral, wedding and church service. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Aid and received her lifetime membership pin, and also spent countless hours volunteering for other organizations. Lauga was a very passionate person, fun to be with and had a forever young, positive attitude which projected onto others. She will be greatly missed by all. Lauga's family wishes to thank Dr. Siddiqui and the nursing staff at Arborg Hospital for the medical and compassionate care they gave our Amma. Celebration of Lauga's life will be held at the Unitarian Church in Arborg, MB on Saturday, May 4 at 2:30 p.m. to be followed by coffee and a light lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion. Everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may send a donation to a charity of choice in Lauga's memory. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 (Gimli - 204-642-7124) nbardal.mb.ca
