My very first full time job back in July, 1969 was with the Toronto Dominon Bank 274 Smith Street in Winnipeg. Mr. Miller was the Branch Manager and I was his Secretary back then. Wonderful and caring employer with a great sense of humour and a smile for all staff and clients. I still remember still after all these years his navy car with the back window that faced inward instead of outward (can you tell I don't know my cars). I have thought of him many times over the years and was saddened to hear of his passing. My sincere thoughts of sympathy go out to the family even though I have never met them. - Posted by: Valerie Mlynarovich (former employee ) on: May 03, 2013

Cliff was a very pleasant, wise loving family man. He also cared for others around him. He was a great asset to our neighbourhood. We could always see his joy of living in Belair from berry picking, gardening and feeding the birds. Another good memory will be the corn roasts and singing with him in our respective choirs he has left a great legacy for his friends, neighbours and family. - Posted by: Blair & Sonia Sheane (long time neighbours) on: May 02, 2013

Dear Pauline and Family: I was truly saddened to hear of Cliff's passing. He was by far, the best "boss" I ever worked with. Always willing to listen and help whenever he could. Please know that he is in a lot of hearts today and always. My deepest sympathies to everyone. Wish I could be there on Friday. Take care & God bless. Our family was deeply saddened to hear of Cliff's death. Cliff was an amazing person and true friend. He had such a positive, happy attitude towards life which was complimented by his keen sense of humor. Cliff was wise and a true leader. I can still hear him singing the beautiful hymn: I See a New Heaven, I see a new earth as the old one Will Pass Away'. May God comfort you in your sorrow. Hugs to all. Cliff was a true professional and a great traveling companion. He was consistently reliable with his outstanding knowledge of credit, and he kept a calm demeanor and a strong sense of humour through trying on-the-job circumstances. He was a natural leader. I know I speak for everyone who worked with Cliff at the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corp when I say how sorry we were to hear of his passing, and profoundly regret not seeing him for so long after he retired from our crew. Thank you very much Pauline for sharing his time with us, and know that his ex-workmates frequently reminisce about Cliff and the good times we had together.
