Condolences & Memories (26 entries)

  • Judy, Kim, Marci and David. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I only had the honour of meeting your Dad a few times, but was immediately struck by what a wonderful 'people person' he was, and that legacy continues in all of you. - Posted by: David Dunlop (Classmate of Judy) on: May 29, 2013

  • While reading the Herald Leader I came across an article written by Rae Warburton. I was saddened finding Dr. Glenn's passing. My story is 2-fold. One, myself while at Success Commercial College, had a toothache and looked up to see Dr. Glenn's name up on a window so went to him and he was so nice. He took my tooth out and replaced it with another one, laid in with gold. Imaagine. I still have that in my mouth. Secondly, my daughter who was around 4 then had an accident that forced her tooth up into her gum. I phoned Dr. Glenn and he said bring her right over. This was in the evening. He took her the next morning in his office and got the tooth down and she still has it. What a dentist and person he was. This is long but wanted you to know how he touched our lives. I read how he touched all kinds of lives....what a tribute to a fine man. - Posted by: Darline Martin (nee Kartanson) (Patient) on: May 19, 2013

  • As students, we were blessed with many great instructors who shared their time and wisdom to help us become competent dentists. That said, ask any student who had the pleasure of being taught by Dr. Glenn which instructors they remember most fondly, and they will very likely say Dr. Glenn. - Posted by: Tim Dumore (Student of Dr. Glenn) on: May 03, 2013

  • Wow - the world lost a great man, but we are all much better having known him. My condolences to the family. My father is Dr William Campbell or "Bill" to his friends and "Bob" - Dr Robert Glenn was a great friend. He and my father practiced dentistry together in Souris early in their careers. Bob Glenn was the best man at my father's wedding and Dr. Glenn was my first dentist! Other former students above shared my good fortune at having Dr. Glenn as an instructor in dentistry here in Winnipeg. His gentle and reassuring manner, combined with his great knowledge, helped many, many students over the years. He was an inspiring teacher. His warm and sparkling eyes with a ready smile and laugh, and the "cookie duster", as my my father would say, was always a welcome sight in dental school. I am saddened at his passing but the world was lucky to have had him for 96 years. I am doubly saddened that he spent a brief time at Deer Lodge Hospital. Both my parents, Bill and Isabelle Campbell have been there for over a year. I can't believe Bob Glenn was so close to my parents and we never got the chance to visit and bring them together. Again my condolences to all of Bob Glenn's family at their loss. - Posted by: John Campbell (Son of a great friend and a student of his) on: May 03, 2013
