SAVILLE FORD HAMBLETON
Born: Jan 01, 1938
Date of Passing: Apr 20, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAVILLE FORD HAMBLETON February 1, 1938 - April 20, 2013 "Sav" was born in Regina to Ford and Mable Hambleton but raised in Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn his wife Barbara (Wileman), son Bruce (Barb), daughters Karen (John) and Sue (Kent). He was the proudest and best granddad to David, Kyle, Zachary, Lauren, Braeden, Samantha, Mitchell and Nathan. He will also be missed by his sister Jeanne (Snead), many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and special friends Bob and June Walker who were always there for him. After graduating from the University of Winnipeg he joined Air Canada in 1961. At that time he married his high school sweetheart and together they enjoyed many cruises and Saturday nights out with their friends during their 52 years together. He was President of the Metro Club of Winnipeg, District Director of the Air Canada Pionairs on Vancouver Island and President of the National Executive of the Pionairs for two years. He was a perfectionist at building model airplanes and making wine and after retiring in 1991, moved to N. Saanich where he volunteered at the BC Aviation Museum until his diagnoses with Alzheimer's in 2005. You could often find him sitting on his deck with a cigar in one hand and a glass of wine in the other waiving at people passing by. He was a well respected and caring man who will be missed by all who knew him. His beautiful blue eyes will shine down on us forever. Many thanks to the caring staff at Resthaven Lodge this past year and Dr. A. Marsh who helped him with his journey. A private family service will be held at graveside in Winnipeg in June. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society in his name would be appreciated.

So sorry to hear of Sav's passing. I knew Sav from my days in The Metro Club back in the 80's. Even though I haven't seen him since those days I'll often remember him as the person who "signed me up for Aeroplan" when it launched. Sav was a kind and gentle man who was well respected by all. My sincere condolences to the Hambleton family. - Posted by: Grant Hardman (Friend) on: May 05, 2013
