Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • In Grade 6, due to a scheduled absence by Mr. Mitchler (May He Rest in Peace), our class was relocated to a portable cabin to share with Mandy's class. She was, to me, the star of the entire Grade 6 class, having won awards in many talent shows over the years for her dancing. I was seated beside her for that week and she was amazingly warm: no pretension, no snobbishness toward me. During that week, she once invited me over to her family's house for a lunch hour. She was fabulously energetic, with a real gift for talking. She made for us a nacho cheese lunch and introduced me to my first taste of olives. She was so very welcoming, even opening up a family album to show me pictures of her younger brother, Lee, whom she spoke about with great love and pride. She showed me a balloon in her bedroom that a ginger-haired boy named Shane J had bought for her. Naturally, we returned to OV Jewitt late (and her homeroom teacher was incensed by our tardiness). I almost cried then and there, afraid that my strict Filipino parents would be informed, but Mandy leaned into me to whisper that everything would be okay because "it's happened before." Everybody loved her. What a privilege it was to know her, albeit fleetingly. She was and is an angel. x - Posted by: Eleanor (Bueza) Eiserman (Elementary School Classmate) on: Jun 17, 2016

  • The first time I met Mandy was in grade 7 at Ken Seaford Junior high. She was the most prettiest and funny and nicest person you will ever meet. I know after grade 7 we lost contact. But I remember we shared the pizza bill at a near by pizzeria. Mandy, Shawna, Sharan and myself. Her favorite singer was Madonna and she won first place as Madonna on the battle of the air bands! She is so creative! I miss her and I'm sorry this unexpected tragedy. I wish her husband and step children and her family my deepest sympathy and condolences. She will never be forgotten! God bless Mandy and rest in peace. Jacqueline Quiogue former classmate - Posted by: Jackie Quiogue (Friend) on: Jun 11, 2016

  • Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful and amazing this woman was. My heart goes out to all those that knew and loved her and to those that had a chance to be around her . . . . if only for a moment. You lit up our lives. We miss you and you will always be remembered. - Posted by: Rick Kramer (Friend/coworker ) on: Jun 28, 2013

  • Mandy is/was an amazing person with an even bigger and brighter spirit and heart. She did my makeup for me when I'd be on set for shows and in a set of my headshots 10 years ago. Once she specially did my makeup for a costume party. She was always smiling and was always happy. A lot of us in the acting community are really upset with her passing, but like one of my friends said, "she's in heaven now, putting makeup on Marilyn Monroe and other actors". Rest In Peace Mandy. We will miss you and always love you xoxoxoxo - Posted by: Trisha Benjamin (Friend) on: May 08, 2013

  • It was a shock to hear of Mandy's passing. She was so beautiful. She had this smile that could be seen for miles. I remember her laugh, even though I haven't seen her for years. Mandy had a personality and a way about her that I will always remember. She was an outstanding makeup artist and true to her friends. I hope she looks down on us all and knows we remember her, love her, that she sees our sorrow and knows she will never be forgotten. Sorry I could not be at the memorial. Our thoughts are there with the friends and family, and of course always with you Mandy. Loads of hugs. - Posted by: Cindy McGuire ( Smith) (Fellow Makeup Artist/ Friend) on: May 07, 2013

  • We are so sorry to hearing of Mandy's passing....she was always such a breath of fresh air and brought such energy into any room she entered. When I think of Mandy I think of red bras, dancing in the window of a new bar downtown, doing Melissa's makeup for grade 9 grad and the energy, wit, sense of humor that totally enveloped her. We are so sorry for your tragic loss....Mandy was bigger than life. - Posted by: Brenda Stamm, Caleigh and Melissa (Dance friends) on: May 05, 2013

  • We were very sorry to hear of Mandy's passing. She would come over as a little girl to play with my daughter Christie. She was always so full of entertainment. She loved to talk on and on and on. I remember when all the kids came to my place Mandy would always be with me in the kitchen telling me all kind of stories. I know she will be sadly missed by all. Our thoughts are with you at this time and always. - Posted by: Julie & Bon Cowie (Mandy was my daughter's friend) on: May 05, 2013
