MARGARET DONALDA SCHELL (CALVERT) February 18, 1933 - April 29, 2013 Peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2013 Donalda passed away at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, where she had been for the past three and a half years. Her brave battle with Alzheimers is now over and she will be lovingly remembered by: her devoted husband Al; her children, Marilyn Klein, Reg Schell, Joanne Schell, Kimberly Jaciuk and Jackie Dyck; her 15 grandchildren, Alana Klein, Michael Klein, Andrew Klein, Amanda Husson, Sean Schell, Jennie Schell, Allan Babiak, Kade Babiak, Chantel Kinaschuk, Brittany Kinaschuk, Cassandra Dyck, Aaron Dyck, Celina Dyck, Kirsten Jaciuk and Marissa Jaciuk; and four great-grandchildren, Griffi Husson, Gavin Husson, Bronson Babiak and Ava Klein. Donalda was predeceased by her parents, Reg and Dorothy Calvert and her younger brother Barry. Leaving brother Ron Calvert, sister Betty McRorie, and sister Doreen Coubrough to cherish her memories. Donalda started her career as an operator in Brandon, where she met her husband, Al Schell, who she subsequently married. She worked her way up the ladder and ended up as a manager in statistics and methods section of the Traffic Department. She retired in December 1991, with 37 years of service. Donalda enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, shopping, travelling and lunches out, but she especially enjoyed family get-togethers and babysitting. More than anything, Donalda was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, right to the end. She will be profoundly missed by all who loved her. Al and Donalda celebrated their 60th anniversary in January, 2013. Special thanks to Dr. Colin Fletcher (family physician), Dr. Karen De Mueller (Tuxedo Villa), as well as nurses, nurses aides and all support staff, all of whom she once described as "Angels disguised as health-care workers". Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honour Donalda, followed by a reception, will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue (Just west of Perimeter overpass). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donalda's name to Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB. • We are so very sorry to hear of Donalda's passing. Our condolences to Al and family. Donalda was such a nice lady and always had a warm smile for us and took the time to stop to talk whenever and wherever we met; either on the bay or at the store. We enjoyed our chats at our annual block party and let's not forget her delicious potato salad! Donalda will be missed.
