WILLIAM (BILL) MOZEL It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill, a husband, father, grandfather and brother. On Monday, May 6, 2013, Bill passed away at his residence while doing what he loved, gardening. He was 69. Bill leaves his beloved wife Darlene, his children Leanne (Mark), Kristin (Johann), his cherished grandchildren, Nicolas, Noah and Raina; his brothers and sisters, Jenny (Mike), Gloria, Al (Walda), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his parents John and Anne Mozel. He was born in Winnipeg in 1944. Bill worked for the Manitoba Telephone System for 34 years until he retired in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Bill loved the outdoors, birds, composting, gardening and fishing. Many happy years were spent at the family cottage in the Whiteshell. Bill enjoyed golfing, having coffee with his friends, planting and taking care of his tomatoes. Bill loved his yearly to twice yearly warm winter vacation destinations with his family. Dad always looked out for all of us in his special way. He always said family was everything, and he would always be there for us when we needed him. We will miss you so much, we love you, and we know that you are at peace. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Thomson "In The Park" Funeral Home & Cemetery, 1291 McGillivary Blvd at 10:00 am. • So sad to hear of Bill's death! I will always remember him gliding by in his boat at the lake, fishing pole in hand. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren, and also his vegetable gardens. It will not be the same at the cottage without him. - Posted by: Carla Zelmer (Neighbor at the lake) on: May 13, 2013

  • Darlene and family, we were shocked to hear of Bill's passing. Bill and I first met when we were in grade 7 and were on many sports teams together. There was a group of 6 or 7 of us and we always hung out together when we were young. I moved to B.C. about 40 years ago and still kept in touch thru email jokes, facebook and the occasional phone call. I may have been around when Bill first met you, Darlene. I believe Bill and I went to the German club to try and meet some young ladies and I think he asked you to dance. It was love at first sight for both of you while dancing to the Polish Polka. We will miss Bill as we had many good times together. I know he loved his family very much. Sorry, I could not attend the service.
