ANNE WARREN Anne Warren, 74, passed away peacefully early May 1, 2013 in Flin Flon, Manitoba with her family and a caregiver by her side. She was born on January 23, 1939 in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Matthew and Helen (Gornik) Zoretich. Anne was predeceased by her husband Don Warren, parents Matthew and Helen Zoretich, her sister Mary Mahovlich and brother-in-law Mark, brother Frank Zoretich; sister-in-law Milica Zoretich, and infant sister Barbara and infant brother Matthew Zoretich. She is survived by her sons Kirk Warren (Rhonda Morden) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Scott Warren (Val) of Medicine Hat, Alberta; grandchildren Liam and Seth Warren; Tanis Warren, Jenna Schmidt, and Ciara Warren; brother John Zoretich of Flin Flon, Manitoba; sister Katie Cyr (Gib) of Summerland, British Columbia; sister-in-law Lee Zoretich of Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Brenda Solilo (Steve) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and many nephews, nieces and their families. Anne grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. She graduated from Hapnot Collegiate in Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1957. After high school she attended the Saskatoon Business College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan returning to Flin Flon where she worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting as a messenger for five years. While working there in 1958, she caught the eye of a young machinist, Don Warren. They dated and were married June 24, 1961. They built a home with the aid of their family and friends on Creekside Drive before starting a family and raising two boys: Kirk (born 1963) and Scott (born 1964). Don and Anne were happily married for 43 years until Don passed away in 2003. Anne lived in her home for over 50 years, raising her family and entertaining children, grandchildren and friends. She was proud of it and her home town. While she enjoyed travelling, she was happiest, and most comfortable, at home on Creekside Drive. Anne was a member of TOPS Club (Flin Flon Chapter), an international weight loss support group for over 40 years. She acted as a weight recorder for 38 of those years and, in her role, was a confidant to many. She enjoyed working with people and offering support. It was all part of her caring, empathetic spirit. She was too modest to think of herself as someone to aspire to but in her sense of obligation, exacting standards, and her care towards others she set an example of how we should live our lives and that is something we will always carry with us. Thank you to Anne's doctors, nurses and health care assistants who cared for her and to her many friends and family members who brought her comfort in her final days. A funeral service will be held at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 163 Centre Street, Flin Flon, Manitoba, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Following the grave side service at Hillside Cemetery, lunch will be served in St. Ann's Parish Hall by the Catholic Women's League. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Diabetes Association through Northern Rainbow's End Gifts and Flowers, 55 Main Street, Flin Flon, MB, R8A 1J7. Condolences may be left on Anne Warren's online guest book at http://www.dadsonfuneralhome.com. She loved and was loved, and will be missed.
