Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEILEEN KATHERINA MARTINELLI November 29, 1956 - May 7, 2013 On May 7, 2013, Eileen Katherina Martinelli passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the age of 56 years, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Eileen Katherina, no longer in pain and suffering, has gone to heaven to sing with the angels. She was a remarkable woman who put up a fight until her final day. She retired after 36 years of dedicated service with Nav Canada. Her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Essence. Eileen Katherina's memory will be cherished through her daughter, Essence Martinelli, parents, Ruth and Michael Martinelli, sisters Carla Irvine (Rob) and Paula Painchaud (Glen Koblun), nephews, Michael and Christopher Painchaud, beloved friends, and lives of those she has touched. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 10826 62 Ave., Edmonton, AB. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Hall and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit 43 at Grey Nuns Hospital for their exceptional and compassionate care of Eileen Katherina. Donations may be made in memory of her to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or the Palliative Care Unit 43 at the Grey Nuns Hospital, 1100 Youville Drive, W NW Edmonton, AB T6L 5X8. May she rest in peace.

Kathie and I were good friends in high school (Silver Heights Collegiate), we had good times together. After a number of years we lost contact. I will always remember her smile, her laugh and her mischievous nature. I had thought about her from time to time, and I was very sad to learn that she has passed on. I send my sincere condolence to Mr.& Mrs. Martinelli, Carla and Paula, I remember you all. Also to Essence, whom I have never met, but I am sure you are as beautiful as your Mother. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel in my heart. I have not met Eileen Martinelli, but I have been blessed to call her daughter my friend. A friend who is courageous, beautiful both inside and out, and has one of the kindest souls I have been bless to encounter. I've heard that the apple does not fall far from the tree, and Essence embodies the genuine kindness her mother has raised her to be.
