GERALDINE AUDREY COGGAN May 12, 1948 - May 9, 2013 The soul of our sister Gerry slipped softly and quietly into the twilight Thursday, May 9, 2013. Her body had had enough, and her soul longed for Mom and Dad, and Home. Gerry had been a resident of the Manitoba Developmental Centre (M.D.C.) since she was five. It was with great sorrow and great trust that our parents left Gerry in the care of M.D.C. 60 years ago. Our beloved Dad, Ralph Coggan went Home February 4, 1999. Our Mom Edith left to be with him February 6, 2012. Gerry is survived by her sister Marjorie (Maggie) of Portage la Prairie; her brothers Jim and John in Alberta, Blair (Janet) and Bill (Sheila) all of Warren, MB. Gerry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gerry's path in life didn't include any of the many happy occasions where women receive flowers. Gerry would have loved them, and the patients and the devoted staff at M.D.C. will continue to enjoy their beauty when Gerry leaves. The funeral service for Gerry will take place at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Aspen Centre, M.D.C. led by Chaplain Ron Siemens. Graveside Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. led by Rev. James Bardsley at the Stonewall Cemetery, next to our Mom and Dad.
