Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEON ILDEGE SABOURIN April 5, 1932 - May 8, 2013 Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Léon Ildège Sabourin passed away May 8, 2013, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, at the age of 81 years. Léon leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Aline (nee Gauthier), his children Jules (Lynne), Charles (Lise predeceased in 1997), Sylvia Grutzmacher (Peter), Carol Lorteau (Gilles), Gisèle Ginn (Geoff), 10 grandchildren, Lianne (Robert), Derrick (Rikki-Lee), Jeanelle (François), Joelle (Patrick), Jacynthe (Mike), Jocelyn (Nicole), Steve, Paul, Adam, Owen, and great-grandchildren Mathis and Anna. Léon will also be remembered by his brother André (Rolande), sisters Sr. Helene, Lucille Bérard, Rose-Alma Aquin, Denise Connelly, and sisters-in-law Jeanne, Denise, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Léon is predeceased by his parents Ildège and Exilda (nee Beaudette), his six brothers, Ovila, Armand (Hortense), Georges (Rachelle), Louis (Annette), Cyrille (Marie-Claire), Denis, sister Léona Alarie (Célestin), and brothers-in-law Alphonse Bérard, Lionnel Aquin and Robert Connelly. Léon was born and raised in St. Jean Baptiste, where he farmed all of his life. He was a very generous and caring man. Léon and Aline enjoyed life by travelling and camping with friends and family, but the greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. A Celebration will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 with Eulogy starting at 3:30 p.m. followed by 4:00 p.m. Mass at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. H. Leylec and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. C. J. Woelk, Karen Schaak and Nursing staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre, and Dr. M. Fraser and Karen at Morris Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, phone 204-787-4143. "Au revoir Léon. Au revoir Dad. Au revoir Pepère. Nous te reverrons un jour." Aunty Aline Sorry to here about uncle Leon. You both have a special place in our hearts. We have fond memories growing up on the farm, back in the day!!! I remember uncle Leon eating raw hamburger, swallowing raw eggs!!! All the parties you guys had with mom & dad !!! Those were fun days. Uncle Leon was a good man will certainly be missed.
