Date of Passing: May 15, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARLENE TUREK August 16, 1953 - May 15, 2013 Peacefully, in the early hours of Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Arlene passed away at the age of 59 years. Arlene leaves to mourn her passing, her husband of 39 years, Dennis, as well as her three children, Sherie (Jeff), Robert (Melissa), and Michael (Carly); and her granddaughters, Abigail, Sadie and Ashlee. Her mother Irene Wiebe; brothers Paul (Cheryl), Dave (Trudy) Anseeuw, and her many nephews and nieces, for which she always had a special place in her heart for, will also miss her dearly. Arlene was predeceased by her father Laurent Anseeuw, stepfather Alvin Wiebe, and her in-laws John and Valentine Turek. Arlene's most precious times were spent with her entire family at Twin Lakes Beach. She loved animals and had various pets throughout her life. She owned and rode horses with her great friends and her beloved dog and loyal companion, always at her side - Kokanee. At the lake she spent countless happy hours in the water and lounging on the deck. Even though she enjoyed her time at the lake immensely, she also loved planning various family trips down to the last detail. She attended St. Mary's Academy and the St. Boniface School of Nursing. She was a dedicated ICU nurse for over 34 years at Health Sciences Centre and Seven Oaks Hospital, taking her role as a patient advocate very seriously. During her career she forged friendships that she enjoyed into retirement with get-togethers and play dates with grandchildren. Arlene's wishes were to have a Private Family Celebration of her Life. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Canadian Diabetes Association, phone 204-925-3800. want you to know that my thoughts and the thoughts of my family are with you and your family during this time of sorrow. I love to recount the time we visited you and Arlene at Twin Lakes and saw her horse playing in the water, rolling on its back like a dog! Seeing how happy you two were there prompted me to move out to the lake. Take care Dennis. - Posted by: Keith Rankin (Worked with Dennis at John W Gunn) on: May 23, 2013
