Born: Sep 08, 1919
Date of Passing: May 14, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM BARNEY KRAFT It is with tremendous sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather (Gee Gee) on May 14, 2013. On September 8, 1919, William, son of Emil and Caroline was born, raised and schooled in the North End of Winnipeg. It was also where he met "The Love of His Life" Ruby and they were married on July 29, 1950. Employed by CP Rail for 37 years, Dad began his career as a Carman, retiring as a Carpenter in 1980. He was presented with a commemorative plaque acknowledging his uninterrupted and dedicated service. Dad won several trophies for his skills in both horseshoe pitching and bowling. He enjoyed "puttering" around his home and cottage at Grand Beach. Dad also enjoyed gardening, golfing and playing pool, but his greatest joy was spending time with his wife Ruby and their family. Dad's most precious treasures were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad's love and memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of 63 years, Ruby, son Barry and wife Holly, daughter Marilyn (Bonney) and husband Bruce as well as his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Honoured to be William's pallbearers are his grandchildren Bill, Jen and Rob, Rick, Hunter and Laura. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in William's memory to the Alzheimer Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-586-8044
