Linda was a talented judge, who had the ability to command respect in her courtroom without demanding it. I had the pleasure of appearing as counsel in her courtroom for many years. She will be missed, not only by her family and friends, but also by those who had the pleasure of working with her. - Posted by: Stephen Legault () on: May 22, 2013

Very sad to read of her passing. Judge Giesbrecht was one of the best Judges I appeared before as a prosecutor. No accused person left the room confused as to what happened and what the law required. She was immensely fair and objective and a thorough class act. A true public servant over many years, she contributed to the fabric of peace order and good government by rule of law. Rest in peace. Linda was a compassionate prosecutor and judge who never forgot to temper her considerable legal talents with heart. She was always brought a human element into the balancing of her decision. - Posted by: Saul Simmonds (counsel, appeated before het often) on: May 22, 2013

In 2004 I had the immense pleasure of working with Linda on a Canadian Association of Provincial Court Judges Conference. She found out that I had a love of all things penguin and every year since then a lovely penguin card would arrive on my birthday and at Christmas, always recognizable as hers with the big and bold handwriting she had. Linda was the most thoughtful person I have ever met and I consider it a blessing that we had dinner together not so long ago to catch up. My sincere condolences on your loss.
