ROY ELBURT MILLS Roy Elburt Mills, 92, passed away on September 14, 2012 in Naples, Florida. Roy was born March 18, 1920 on his family farm near Starbuck, MB, and moved to Winnipeg, where he grew up. He was predeceased by his siblings Guy, Lloyd, Louise, Irma, and his beloved wife Audrey, of 47 years, who passed away in 1992. He is survived by his second wife Dorothy of Naples, Florida, four children, David (Colette) of Montreal, QC, Kenneth of Woodstock, ON, Donald of Sooke, BC, and Mary Jane (Stephen) Webb of Victoria, BC, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Vera, brother Don, and many nieces and nephews. Roy spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force and retired in 1967. After his military career, he was head of security at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and Bank of Montreal. Roy and his family spent many holidays together camping across Canada and the U.S. as well as many summers at several family cottages, and Audrey's brothers' farms in Ste. Elizabeth, MB. He loved to fish and hunt with his sons and brother Don, and curled for the R.C.A.F. on championship curling teams, also serving on the Manitoba Curling Association's Executive Committee. In 1982, he and Audrey moved to Victoria, BC where they enjoyed gardening, hiking and camping on the West Coast. After Audrey passed away, he moved to Naples, Florida in 1995 with his second wife, Dorothy. He and Dorothy travelled to Europe and went on several cruises together. With Dorothy's tender loving care, he was able to be at home until the day before he passed away. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. The interment of his ashes will take place on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Morris Cemetery.
