Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARNET ARNOLD DRENNAR Peacefully with his family by his side, Garnet Arnold Drennar passed away at Concordia Hospital on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Garnet was born in Winnipeg to Reta and William Drennar on May 6, 1925. Dad was predeceased by daughter Donna, wife Maureen, sisters Edith, Doris and Lorna and stepgranddaughter Kelsie. Left to cherish his memory is his children Wayne, Rick (Maria), Darlene (Rory), grandchildren Stephen (Michelle), Donna (David), stepgranddaughter Katie and great-grandson Luca. He will also be missed by his extended family and many friends. Dad was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 43 years. He worked at the Winnipeg Fire Department and after 37 years he retired as a Captain. He loved his many summers at Bonnet Oaks in Lac du Bonnet and winters in Texas at Pine-to-Palm. He had great memories of days in the sun and evenings of card and dice games with the family. Dad was always very active volunteering for many different boards and organizations. The family would like to thank the staff on the 2nd floor of Concordia Place and at the Concordia Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin-in-the-Field Anglican Church, 160 Smithfield Avenue. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garnet's memory may be made to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund. We love you Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa.
