MURIEL BARBARA CANT Our Mother Barbara passed away in the early hours of Thursday, May 2, 2013. Barbara will always be remembered by daughter Sandra Cant; grandson, Scott (Katie); great-granddaughter Piper; granddaughter Hayley Bellfleur (Ryan); granddaughter Wendy; great-grandsons Morgan and Lloyd; daughter Joanne deGroot (Glenn); grandsons Brock and Garret; and also by beloved brother Jack Hewitt and family in Canada, and siblings and their families in England. Born March 4, 1931 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England, Mom left school at the age of 14 to apprentice as a dressmaker. With Ronald and Sandra she immigrated to Winnipeg in 1957. For many years she was recognized as a gifted and creative dress designer and seamstress. Her family will remember Barbara as "one of a kind". She enjoyed her cup of tea, Coronation Street, chocolates and sweets and the company of her good friends through the years. Mom we will remember your kindness, generosity and giving nature. In compliance with Barbara's wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. Heritage Lodge was home to Barbara since 2002 - our gratitude is extended to the staff for the care and support over the years.
