ALYCE BORYS It is with profound sadness and loving memories that we announce that our dear Sister and Aunt passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 26, 2013. Alyce was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Margaret Borys, brother William, sister Mary Seman, brothers-in-law Joe Seman, Tony Grodecki and Bill Kamins, nephew Don Wood, as well as an infant brother John, niece JoAnne, and a baby niece. She is survived and will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her eldest sister Stephanie and younger sister Ann; her nieces and nephews Donna (Ed), Kerry (Cathy, son Kelly), Melissa (Aaron), Angus, Tom (Jo-Anne), Teresa, Billy, Rose-Anne, Wendy (Ryan), Jordan, and Noah. She dearly loved them all. Alyce was born in Grindrod, BC on July 1, 1930 moving to Winnipeg that same year. She grew up at the family homestead in Rosser, MB. She attended Brooklands School and then graduated from St. John's High School. She began her working career in 1949 with the Winnipeg School Division No.1 in a clerical position, and then held various positions within the Architectural and Building Department throughout her 37 years of dedicated service, until retirement in 1986. Alyce was loved by all who knew her. She had a caring and kind nature. She was very artistic and had many hobbies. Her passion was reading, she wrote letters to pen pals worldwide, she excelled in needle point, music, painting, sewing, baking, to name a few, and travelling, especially to Hawaii. We would like to express our appreciation to the 2nd floor staff at St. Joseph's Residence, for their loving care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Isidore Dziadyk officiating. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. 204-586-8044
