WAYNE HAROLD CHIARELLA 1949 - 2013 After enjoying a beautiful day at home, filled with love and fine wine, Wayne Harold Chiarella, passed away suddenly in the evening hours of May 27, 2013. Wayne was born May 22, 1949, to the late Harold and Lillian Chiarella, and is survived by Suzanne, his wife of over 24 years; his sons Clinton (Laura), Sean (Renée); his stepchildren Sandra (Gary), Jason; his grandchildren Kristin, Destiny, Anthony, Adelynn, Olivia, Everett; and his sister Dianne. Wayne received his designation in December 1978, and retired from his career as a chartered accountant in January 2012. He was a partner of Holukoff Chiarella Chartered Accountants for 30 years, where he earned a reputation for being exceptionally dependable and hardworking. Along with biking, hiking, and spending time with his family, Wayne enjoyed travelling to Europe and exploring new places with his beloved wife. He made use of his cooking skills by surprising her with a special breakfast each Sunday. As per tradition, a barbecue was recently held in celebration of Wayne's 64th birthday; where he was surrounded by family, and showered with gifts and love. These gatherings, which occasionally included a riveting game of baseball, brought Wayne great happiness. Wayne enjoyed a satisfying and full life, living each day as though it were his last. While he will be dearly missed, his family takes solace in knowing that this remained true until the end. A memorial will be held in celebration of Wayne's life, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wayne to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Condolences & Memories (16 entries)

  • Condolences on behalf of my family for the loss of a Wonderful Man and friend to our community. I worked on portions of our dept. audits along with other coworkers and it was always a joy to see Wayne come and visit our office at least twice a year. I think he used to celebrate his birthday with our staff alot of times. I'll always remember showing him my work and getting the green light of a "good job" or getting instruction to "go back and finish it off". - Posted by: Shirley Cochrane ((friend)) on: Jun 04, 2013

  • Wayne was a fellow member at the reh-fit. Our group was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a nice man. I know I speak for all of the others members in the class when I see he will be missed greatly. - Posted by: Kelly Parker-Kluger (Friend and fellow reh-fit member) on: May 31, 2013

  • My deepest sympathy and condolences to the family of Wayne. I've known Wayne for over 25 years. Wayne was our auditor, friend and teacher all rolled into one. Wayne would talk about his vacations and share his stories with us. Wayne taught me so much about accounting and preparing for audits. Many times I would stop and think "now how would Wayne want this posted" Thank you Wayne for your encouragement and teaching. We will miss you so much my friend. - Posted by: Jeannie Cochrane (Friend) on: May 31, 2013

  • We have been lucky enough to live across the street from Wayne and Suzanne for over twenty years. They have watched our children grow along with us and have been very interested in theirs and our lives. Spent many a time on the road talking with them about their different holidays. When my husband purchased a motorcycle Wayne said he had a new bike too. He had us come and see his new bicycle. Always a big wave, friendly hello and a huge smile. We will truly miss his hellos and his wonderful stories. - Posted by: Kim and Rob Jones (Friend ) on: May 30, 2013
