JIM M. SCHULTZ, CGA August 13, 1944 - June 3, 2013 Jim Schultz of Edmonton, AB passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 3, 2013, at the age of 68, after a courageous four year battle with multiple myeloma. Jim was born to Anton and Helen (Mowchan) Schultz, August 13, 1944, in Beausejour, MB. He graduated from Beausejour Collegiate Institute in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Mildred Kruk on July 29, 1967. They were happily married for almost 46 years. They welcomed their only child, Jason on March 23, 1979. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, a passionate sports fan and an infinite lover of music. Jim and Mildred moved to Alberta in 1974 where he attained his Certified General Accountant designation in 1976. Jim worked in accounting and finance field, including over 24 years with Garneau Inc., until his retirement in 2011 as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Garneau Inc. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Helen Schultz; and his sister Sally Regula. Jim is survived by his spouse Mildred of Edmonton, AB; his son Jason (Tiffany) of Calgary, AB; his sister Virginia Naworynski; his niece, nephews and numerous other friends and relatives including an extended "crescent family" in the Shimkos, Moriyamas and Pickerings, as well as his "grandpuppy" Napoleon. The family would like to thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute, the Grey Nuns Hospital and St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of our husband and father. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Parish, 7508 29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 52356 Range Road 232, Edmonton (Sherwood Park), AB.
