SCOTT BROWN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, and father Scott Brown on Saturday, June 8, 2013. He is survived by his wife Sharon (Matiation), his children Kristen and Jared, his father and mother Ken and Ruth, his brothers David and Wayne (Manu), his mother-in-law Olive, sisters-in-law Marcia (Bruce), Elaine (Noel), Gail (Keith) and his many nephews and nieces. Scott was born in Winnipeg. His family moved to Transcona when he was young. He considered himself a Transcona boy. Scott loved his family with all his heart, his parents especially. It was not uncommon for him to call his parents at least once a day or more, especially after Coronation Street. His first job was at Eaton's, then he worked for Burns, which eventually switched to Maple Leaf. During contract negotiations he took a buyout and went to school at Winnipeg Technical College. He got his Fifth Class Power Engineer licence. He then got on with Transcona Springfield School Division, which later became Sunrise School Division. He became head custodian of Ecole Dugald. He met his wife Sharon, while managing a mixed softball team she played on. They married September 6, 1986. They bought a house in Oakbank, December, 1988. It was here that they raised their family. Kristen and Jared brought so much joy to Scott. He never missed an event that they were involved in. The family would like to thank the staff at CancerCare for all the support given to Scott. I would especially like to thank the staff at H.S.C. GH-4 ward for their compassionate care. Scott's Celebration of life will be held at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, in Cooks Creek on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the name of Scott Brown to CancerCare.
