Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN KAVANAGH (nee CHUTE) October 21, 1934 - Dauphin, MB June 6, 2013 Winnipeg, MB Jean (Chum), beloved wife of the late Sean Kavanagh, passed away at the age of 78 years. She is survived by her sister Phyllis, brother Jim, sons Bill (Sheena), Brendan and Bruce (Patty) and daughter Cathy (Tom); grandchildren Meghan, Senan, Erin, Kyla, Liam and Sean, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom felt blessed to have enjoyed a long life raising four children, first in Winnipeg before moving to Brandon in 1970. She was a caring and dedicated mother, and enjoyed many activities: travelling, reading, bridge, curling, golf, swimming, knitting, needlepoint, camping and playing cards with her many friends. She was also a regular volunteer with the school library, March of Dimes, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, and the MS Society. Mom and Dad were longtime members of St. Augustine's Church. Winter months were spent in Mesa, AZ and Osoyoos, BC. Mom enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She had an abundance of love for us all. We will miss her quick wit, playful sense of humor and intelligent conversations. A service will be held in Mom's memory on Friday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Brandon on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 204-586-8044.

Your mom was a great woman who managed a household that always had plenty happening. Us Hadders were always welcomed with opened arms for Brandon weekends those are memories we will always cherish. She always treated us like we were one of her own. I was so sorry to hear of the news I know she was my mom's first friend on the street on Speers Rd. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. It was great to see all of you. - Posted by: Kim Verrier (long time family friends) on: Jun 19, 2013

Mrs. Kavanagh always had the kindest nature and was so hospitable whenever we invaded the often visited Kavanagh house on Elmdale in Brandon. She graciously accommodated the many friends of Bill, Brendon, Bruce and Cathy, while humouring her beloved Sean's impish charms. God bless you Mrs. K. - Posted by: Louise O'Brien-Moran (family friend) on: Jun 14, 2013

Jean and Sean were great friends. We always enjoyed their St. Patrick's Day party in Mesa. Jean & I played Bridge in Brandon for many years. Now she has joined Sean in heaven. God rest her soul. - Posted by: Maureen & Lloyd Lee (friend) on: Jun 12, 2013

Jean became a new friend when my husband Bill, sat at the same dining room table at Poseidon Care Centre. I often ate with them, and we often sat out in the park together, enjoying the fresh air. She was a breath of fresh air, never complaining and enjoying the company. It was a pleasure knowing her. - Posted by: Doreen Langdon (New friend) on: Jun 11, 2013
