PHYLLIS MARY CRICHTON (nee SWITZER) Phyllis Crichton passed away on June 6, 2013 in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 76, with her loving family by her side. She was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on March 17, 1937 and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. Growing up in Hamilton she had many fond memories including her high school part-time job at the local hockey arena. She was especially proud to have helped her parents, Steve and Helen Switzer build their family home. She later attended McGill and the University of British Columbia where she was president of her sorority and graduated with a BA from McMaster in 1961. In 1965 she married the love of her life and they had two daughters who adore her. They raised their family in Oakville, Ontario which she loved. She retired from a long successful career as a Business Systems Analyst at Ontario Hydro. In her retirement she helped to build and design another home in Prince Edward County on the shores of Prince Edward Bay where she spent 10 happy years. She loved the sunshine. One of her favourite things to do was to sit outside on the porch with her cup of coffee and her Sudoku. She was famous for her shoulder rubs and cabbage rolls. She will be remembered fondly for many things ... among them her kind and gentle spirit, her cheekiness, her intelligence and honesty, her soft green eyes and her bountiful vegetable garden. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched with a friendly smile or word including extended family, family friends, local acquaintances she "chit chatted" with as she went about her errands, and any little kid she made smile along the way. She is deeply missed and survived by her husband Tom "TJ", and daughters Lisa and Tricia.

  • May the songs of the angels welcome her And guide her along the way. May the smiles of the martyrs greet her As darkness turns into day. Every tear will be undone and death shall be no more As the songs of the angels welcome her To her heavenly home. Dear Phyllis I recall with joy your beautiful wedding day, and all the excitement that surrounded that event. I also remember the tremendous pride of your parents, as they watched their beautiful and only child, grow and mature into a wonderful daughter, wife and mother. Rest now from your worldly labours as you find peace in heaven Tom, Lisa, and Tricia Love to you all at this difficult hour. Our prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Gail and Morris Ficzycz :nee Sosnoski (Cousin) on: Jun 13, 2013
